What is  your name?

CAESARIA

What is your genre of music?

Electro/rock

Give us a little bio about you

CAESARIA draws its origins from the new English-rock wave.
Armed with their punchy electro-rock music, the band had already raised interest in 2016 with its first EP Sparks of visions.

CAESARIA’s last EP Come On & Dance is a playground for dancing and dynamic experimentations, they mix the vocal harmonies of a devilishly efficient pop-music with more recent electronic sounds brilliantly. Powerful guitar riffs add the cherry on top to this savant mixture: the crowd wants more.

Fiery and simply mind-blowing, the four French « kids », led by the label from Strasbourg Try&Dye Records, continue to play in festivals, for musical
springboards and as prime parts, attracting after each gig new enthusiasts that are caught by an unstoppable need to dance their hips off.

CAESARIA’s burning and contagious energy on stage is illustrated by their victories in many musical springboards (RTL2 in 2015, Music on Stage and Printemps des grandes écoles in 2016). It has led the inexhaustible band to play on several big stages such as doing Naive New Beaters’s first part (La Laiterie – Strasbourg), Printemps de Bourges’s festival or les Eurockeennes de Belfort, pursuing the universal and timeless goal : to make bodies shake.

Tell us more about your music.

Our music is a mix between the energy, the guitars and the drums from the rock’n roll music combined with harmonies, samples of the electro music. We want to make a kind of electro music played with organic instruments. Our goal is to add the energy of the rock’n roll music to the electro music.

Your new release is out now ‘Come On & Dance’, tell us more about the new track.

This song features an Irish rapper named Sheridan. We wanted to mix an original rock/pop song with an old school floating rap from Sheridan, who we met recently – and we loved his flow. We wanted to support him by putting forward his talent. “Come on & Dance” is his first recorded music and his first music video. Moreover, we wanted to create a real invitation to come to dance. We wanted the EP to begin with this track because it is the way-of-thinking, the very guide line of our artistic line. To sum up, it’s what we want to spread through our music, our gigs, our photos… our global artistic project. We just want one thing : make people dance and enjoy on our music.”

What was the writing process like?

First of all, we created the music. After finding the structure and the atmosphere of the song, we realized that it was pretty different compared from the others of the EP. This is why we decided to go further and make it more different that it was by adding a floating rap from an artist that we support and we like. After this, we wanted to create lyrics which would support the main theme of our EP which is to make bodies dance. As an anthem, the chorus « Come on & dance, Come on the other side » is the way-of-thinking of the band and the essence of the EP.

What was the recording process like?

We made it in the home studio of our label in Strasbourg, France.
We recorded them in 4 fours days with our sound engineer.

What is the message you are trying to tell your fans?

The message is « get lost on the dancefloor, let it out on our music, forget with us everything which surrounds you, pressure down »  Because we think that everyone needs to lose control sometimes, otherwise you implode.

Will we see a EP or Album this year?

Probably an EP. Nowadays, we are brainstorming about the people that we’d like to work with.
We will let you know for sure !

If so what can we expect from it?

What we know for sure is that we want to go further in the electro.rock music. We want to work with people having a vision, ideas which will allow us to create a sound more and more outstanding. This could be done by working on old fashioned keyboards, rare guitar pedals… etc.

Do you have any gigs or a tour coming up?

A tour is constituting for 2O18.

If so where will you be heading?

What we know for sure is a gig in the Zenith of Strasbourg, the 3rd on February.

What else can we expect from you?

To come in the UK asap !

Are you a signed?

Yes in the label Try & Dye Records, Strasbourg.

Who are your influences?

We’d like to rise the number of our collaborations, feats, experimentation with artists. Hopefully, in 5 years we’ll have rised this number !

When you’re not doing music, what do you do?

We listen music !

Would you be up for collaborating with an unsigned artist or band? If so how can they contact you?

As said just above, we’d love to !
Contact us on : caesariabooking@gmail.com

What was the song you listened to most that influenced you to go more in to the music scene?

When I was 13, this concert and this song made me feel like playing gigs !

What made you go in to music?

By watching videos of concerts such as the one just above !
I watched a lot of gigs thanks to the beginning of Youtube back then. Thus, after watching a lot of gigs, I wanted to become a drummer but I ended up as a lead singer and guitarist… fortunately ! haha

What’s the best advice you have ever been given?

Try and if you like it, buy guitar pedals. When I was younger, I didn’t want to buy any guitar pedals, that was for me against rock’n roll music… Now, I have more than 12 guitar pedals…

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians not just about the industry also just as an
artist/band?

Don’t take it too seriously and be different, you must cultivate your differencies !

What quote or saying do you always stick by?

Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.
