What is the bands name?
Silence the Radio
How did you come up with the bands name?
JACK: My friend used to tell me a story about how when Kurt Cobain first attempted suicide, he turned an old radio all the way down. I’m pretty sure the story was total bull, but the phrase “Silence the Radio” stuck with me.
Give us a little bio about you as a band and individuals.
We started out back in January of 2015. In May of that year we released our first EP and started building a name for ourselves in the Providence music scene. Since then, we’ve continued to write and record and just enjoy doing what we love to do.
Plus we all basically share the same sense of humor, so we’ve become really close since we started playing together.
Are you a signed?
We are currently unsigned.
Your single has been released ‘“Friendly Neighborhood Nightmare’, tell us more about that and the video set to release on the 31st Oct.
We recorded “Friendly Neighborhood Nightmare” earlier this year with our friend Chris Piquette, along with 5 other tracks for our new EP. The song tells the story of an adolescent taking their personal struggles and anxiety and creating sort of a character to represent those struggles. It’s a subject that a lot of people who gravitate towards music as a coping method can relate to. You can go and watch the official music video on our Facebook and YouTube!
You are also set to release your new EP, what can you tell us about it?
Our brand new EP, “Friendly Neighborhood Nightmares” comes out December 1st on iTunes and Spotify. It’s filled with the most powerful and emotional songs we’ve ever written and we couldn’t be more excited to release it!
Do you have any shows coming up?

November 11th – the Middle East in Cambridge, MA
November 25th – the Shop Underground in Taunton, MA

December 15th – the Cave in West Haven, CT
