Whats the Bands name and how did you come up with it?
WESLYNN. We got our band name from a street here in Tempe, Arizona that we used to hang out around. We could never say the street name correctly so we began to call it Weslynn. When it came time to pick a band name we all felt Weslynn was the perfect choice.

What are your Full names and ages?
Jared Geyer – Turning 24 on July 19th! Gregory Olin 23. Kevin Holmes 24. Adam Simons 24.

What is your band’s Genre?
We see ourselves as Indie-Rock and Alternative.

Give us a little bio of the band and you guys as individual.
Jared Geyer – Dedicated to music. Music is always on this man’s mind. He is by far one of the best musicians and people I have ever met.
Greg Olin – Motivated, The only thing I want to do in this life is make music as long as I can.
Kevin Holmes – Kevin is a good guy who was gifted with drum skills.
Adam Simons – Adam is an amazing musician. He can pick up and play any instrument in a room and make magic with it.

Who does what in the band?
I.e. who does the vocals, who plays what, who writes the songs
Jared Geyer – Lead vocals / Guitar / Piano
Greg Olin – Guitar
Kevin Holmes – Drums
Adam Simons – Guitar / Vocals
We actually all write the songs collectively. If one of us as an Idea or a melody we all come together and build off that one thing.

How did the band come about?
Jared, Kevin, & Greg has actually been friends since they were all in high school. Jared & Kevin had been playing music together for years. Eventually Greg came into the picture and they all began playing together. When we began writing more & more we all knew it was time to make it official, that is when Weslynn was born. Adam Simons we had met through the music scene here in Arizona, he had been a part of another band in the area, when he left that band we all agreed he’d be a perfect fit.
How did you guys meet?
Jared, Kevin, & Greg were all brought together by a mutual friend named David Dreas. David is the same amazing friend who engineered & produced our debut EP Dark Days in Nashville back in 2014. He was the reason we were all friends, so it was really special for him to be the one to record our debut album. We had met Adam through the local shows here in Arizona, the moment we met him we knew he was a really good friend and an amazing musician.
Who are your influences?
We have so many different tastes in music. Collectively we have learned by spending many hours in cars together that we all can agree on a few amazing artists. John Mayer, Augustana, Coldplay, Tom Petty, The Maine, Lydia, The 1975, and many more.
What are your backgrounds whether it’s in music or not?
We all have been playing music for years. The cool thing is we all share the drive to succeed in making music our only career.
When will you be releasing material?
The plan is to get back into the studio by the end of July 2015 to begin record #2. We have spent the past 4 months writing new material that we are very excited about.
How do you get inspiration to write songs?
When it comes to writing we all use real life experiences that we put into our lyrics. We have put emphasis on making our music as real and raw as possible.
What is your best moment since being in the band if you have any?
Nothing can beat the feeling of meeting so many amazing fans after our shows. Every time we get the chance to create a friendship with new fans is the best moment for all of us. It is what we live for.
Where do you see the band in 2-5 years’ time?
Ideally in 2-5 years we would like to be playing live shows extensively across the US and other countries and meeting more amazing fans every day.
Where would your dream place be to perform in the UK?
The Manchester Arena would a dream for all of us. Some amazing bands from the US have said amazing things about that venue, and it would be a cool moment to experience it for ourselves.

Where is your dream place to perform in USA?
Madison Square Garden in New York City. The venue is legendary, it is the biggest dream of ours.
If you could do collaboration with anyone in the UK who would it be?
That is a tough one, The 1975 have really been an influence to us. However, Harry Styles is the man. It’s a tie between those two for sure.
If you could do a collaboration with anyone in USA who would it be ?
It would be pretty stellar to be able to write and get a guitar lesson from John Mayer haha.

If you wasn’t doing music what would you’d be doing?
That would be a scary thought without music, honestly all 4 of us would be completely different people. Music if our life.

If You got asked by a tv show or film to have your music played on, which show or film would it be?
It would be very cool to be a part of the Super bowl halftime show if that counts.

What’s advice would you give to aspiring bands?
Keep writing as much as you can, do not give up ever, and don’t forget to have fun.

What are five essentials needs you need at a gig/ on tour?
Deodorant, Water, Phone charger, Black clothing, and our instruments. Haha we pack lightly.
